35 Weeks

5 more weeks until Kade arrives (at the most)!

I can't wait to meet him.  He is starting to take up lots of room in there and he's making me swell. Yes, I'm blaming him.  My toes and ankles are getting a little thick.  I can see it all over my body.   I have been doing better with choc and soda, but I do still partake in sweets.

You know that feeling you get when you feel very loved?  It's an almost overwhelming feeling and you don't know what you did to deserve so many wonderful people in your life?  Well that's me...right now.  I have always known my friends were amazing!  They are sweet, kind, and very giving (not to mention FUN).  The past two weeks I have been reminded  that I have amazing people in my life who love Kade already and it has to be one of the best feelings.  I feel like I can't do enough to repay the hostesses at each of my showers.  They worked hard to throw two an amazing showers!!!!  I hope they know what their friendship and love means to me.   To all my friends and family who drove many miles to join us and shower Kade with gifts...THANK YOU!  I hope you all made it back home safely! And to all of the others who came, you are the best friends a girl could ask for.  I never expected so many gifts!!! You are all so giving and I love you.  To all my work friends, THANK YOU for being there for me for so many life changes and now celebrations.

Kade had an amazing shower last Saturday. Many people came out and some drove many miles to get here.  Everyone brought books and wrote the sweetest messages inside to Kade.  I loved reading what they wrote.  Everything was beautiful.

So many giving ladies in my life!!!

yummy food

On Thursday, my dear school friends threw a shower for Kade also.  He got so many cute clothes and  other fun things.  My amazing team hosted and everything was perfect.

All his new stuff!

Our last shower is next Saturday.  It's a couples shower at Oscar's parents house.  I'm excited that Oscar will be at this one!! He'll get to see a lot of his family and help open the gifts. His mom has been spending lots of time preparing and getting her house ready.  It will be fun.

The invitation
I am still stretch mark free and I hope it stays that way.  I am also so glad that I might get to enjoy the summer sun.  I love the summer time and although our trips to the lake this summer might be more limited, I'm excited.   Oscar is excited about the lake and riding the jet skis and I am excited about hanging out in the sun, getting a tan, and introducing Kade to the lake!  I am sure he will love it as much as his daddy. He already has his first jellies, that will be his lake shoes.

This Friday we have our labor and delivery tour.  I'm hoping it will answer some questions and put my mind at ease. There's another class that I'm hoping to take, but I won't find out until tomorrow  we''ll be able to get in before he comes.

So many life changes are happening this year, but hopefully this time next year we'll be building a house!!  Right now, I am content and so happy and the life I have made for myself.  I have great friends, family, and husband.  Thank you for contributing to my life!!! I just can't wait to see what life will bring us next.

33 Weeks

Only 7 more weeks to go!!!

I've been really uncomfortable this week.  I know that he is getting bigger so obviously that makes life harder.  I am not a good pregnant lady. Nothing new has happend, except for the new weight (4 more pounds) that I've gained this week. At least, that's what the (broken) scale at the Dr. office said yesterday.  My allergies are kicking my butt and I feel like my immune system is really trying to fight something off. I hope it wins.

If you remember, my goal was to cut back on chocolate...yeah.  Notice from the picture below that goals are not always reached.  I bought them from a student for a fundraiser, so it WAS for a good cause and I look really happy.  I told the nurse at my dr. that I have been eating lots of chocolate.  She said "good for you." I will however cut back after I saw a nasty picture of myself.  So far two days without a soda and I'm going strong.

Yummy!!

My first shower is this weekend!!  I plan to go dress shopping tomorrow and hopefully I'll find something that doesn't make my face look too fat. My friends Stephanie and Allison are coming from San Antonio and Paige is driving up from Austin! Of course my mom and sister are coming from Temple and my grandmother from Brownwood.  I can't wait to see everyone! I think it will be fun!!!  Lots of people who love Kade and me in one house is a really good feeling.

Oscar is getting more excited about Kade coming each day.  When we play "what body part is that?" we think we can always tell where his butt is!  We often talk about our goals for him, but try to be realistic on what he might choose for his own life. I can't imagine what it's even going to be or feel like when I hold him for the first time, but I hope it is a moment Oscar and I will share and think of often.  God sent Kade to us and I cant imagine planning for a different baby.

We had a staff development day on Monday and I feel like I got a lot done in preparation for my sub. I'm trying to plan everything out and get things done early.  I of course, have a lot more to do.  Only 2 more weeks until spring break! Woo hoo.  That's when I'll finish organizing the house for Kade's arrival. I'll be looking for a photographer soon.  If you know any that charge a flat rate and you get all the pictures, let me know!!

On another note, my mom turned another year older this week.  She's pretty amazing and has already done so much for us, grandma style!  I love you mom!

Have a great week, friends.

32 weeks

I am now officially 8 months pregnant.  For some reason the sound of that makes me feel like he'll be here any day.

I have an appointment on Wednesday and I hope he's still doing well and growing like he should be (and I hope I haven't gained too much more). As you know, it was Valentines this week and Kade really loved all the chocolate that was going around. Unfortunately I couldn't resist eating chocolate. I plan to make this a healthier week.

My back has been hurting more and more.  I began teaching sitting down about a month ago, because I would get out of breath so easy walking around and talking at the same time or simply just standing I would become slightly light headed (the allergies havent been helping)! Now, I simply can't stand for very long without by back hurting.  So thankful I don't have lots of duties that I have to stand for.  I told the kids why I've been sitting more and they have been really sweet and really seem to get it.  Even the little ones.  Also, I don't know if it's pregnancy or a allergies, but my face is itchy and dry.  It is flaking and itchy bumps pop up all the time. Not too fun...

Oscar and I were playing around with an app called baby builder that Mary, a family friend, told us about it.  We uploaded a picture of ourselves and told the app what ethnicity (latin) it would be. Take a look at what our baby girl? looks like. Oscar doesn't think it is his.

What should we name her??

My school shower (work) invitations went out last week.  My team made a video invitation, because they are sent through e-mail. I posted it on Facebook already, but for those who didn't see it, here is the link.  It was very thoughtful and when the volume is on it could possibly make you cry. http://animoto.com/play/Q119oG2S5FLHTdKydaqM1Q

The last shower invites have been made and I am so excited about them going out.   The last shower is a couples shower and Oscar will be there. I'm glad that he'll have a shower experience too and I think his family will all enjoy seeing him.  I'll post a picture of thos invitations after they go out.  I don't want to ruin the surprise.

After this weekend the showers begin. Two other friends are expecting very close to me.  So excited for their showers too. Today I'll be going to get their gifts. Yay! Baby shopping!

My very dear friend, Jennifer, sent Oscar and me a surprise in the mail this week.  A whole lot of diapers!!!  I have amazing people in my life and I can't wait for Kade to meet all the people who already love him. Thanks Jen!!!!

I went with my friend, Liz to a photography class.  It was our hope that we would learn how to take pictures of our babies.  It was great to chat with Liz and hear how her pregnancy was going.   The first 30 mins were awesome...and then the learning stopped. We only took one picture of a coffee mug in front of some lights. It took the class an hour to all take a photo and then it was over.  It was very interesting to me.  Groupon failed at this one.  Hope you like...this photo. It is titled "waste of time."

I am in no rush for Kade to come.  In fact, I hope he stays put right up until his due date.  I don't plan on being induced unless it just looks like he's not coming out.  All the ladies on my pregnancy forum are so anxious.  I still have so much to do to get ready.

BTW: Pancakes are delicious! Have a great week everyone.

31 weeks

Well, it is another week closer to us meeting Kade.  Things are moving right along, but some things changed this week.

I have been nesting! I've always heard of this theory, but am seeing it in me more and more. Any dirt that is seen or any mirror that needs to be wiped down usually gets cleaned right away.  I don't feel like I look for these things. I'm sure Oscar likes it some but it probably leads to more work for him. Something else that has changed is my ability to sleep well through the night. I wake up to use the restroom and find it hard to go back to sleep. It is either my position or that my mind is racing about Kade. I did sleep well Friday night and thank goodness for that! I must have been extremely sleepy!
My stomach is getting bigger and I just can't imagine that it's going to get bigger, but it continues to surprise me. It seems like everyday I notice a change in the size of it and my body...thus no pictures!

I'm going to the doctor every two weeks and I gained another 3 pounds. I'm hoping to max out at 30 pounds total and lose at least 10 by the time I leave the hospital!  Then a half marathon in December? I hope that will give me motivation to get back in shape and lose all the baby weight.  They also let me know that I did not have gestational diabetes and once again Kade was measuring, with the tape, right where he is supposed to.  She let me know he was already upside down and called him a "good baby."  He's not even here and I already felt a sense of pride when she called him that.

This weekend was very exciting for me.  My goal was to finish the nursery...and I have! (Oscar just needs to hang the mirror). My best friend, Allison came all the way from San Antonio to help me finish and start new projects for his nursery. She is amazing!  She also made us a beautiful wreath for our front door (this is something the nester inside of me really loves)!

My goal this week is to take it easy at home and start preparing for my absence at school. I know that I have plenty of time, but I don't want to slack on my duties at school.  I even have a program at school two days before Kade is due. I really want my team members, who will be doing the program for me in my absence, to feel comfortable and prepared. I also don't want to have to do anything work related while I'm at home with him.

The kids at school are sweet and seem excited about Kade also. They ask if he's doing well, ask if they can meet him, and say his name is nice. They'll also comment on how big my stomach is getting.

Thank you to my sweet friend, Allison for your help and love for baby Kade!  I'll always have the memories of your help in his nursery!

Cant wait to get the rest of his things. 9 more weeks and counting!

30 weeks

Kade is officially 30 weeks! He's getting so big. He is now the size of a head of lettuce and 3 pounds.  Only 10 more weeks to go.

We are so in love. He knows his daddy's voice...and wants to play and kick when he hears it. Oscar is going to be an amazing dad. If I don't or haven't done  anything right in my life, I know I chose a good father for my children.

I'm starting to  get sleepy again and take and need naps daily.  They feel so good. I'm sleeping well at night, but the bathroom uses are pretty annoying. I currently have no stretch marks, but as I watch my body grow I think I'll get them.  I'm not into taking pictures of myself right now. I've gained 18 pound and go to the Dr. this week.  I'm sure they'll tell me I've gained more. (sad face)

Friends at school took this one. 29 weeks.

The nursery is moving right along.  We are doing a blue, grey, and white theme with map accents.  This week I've worked on the mobile for Kade's room.  (See pic) It has not been hung up yet, but will be soon.  I hope it looks nice hung. I saw it etsy for 50 bucks... I made it for 18.

The first shower invites have went out. We are going to be blessed to get showered 3 times. Kade is one lucky baby.  I've been working on our registry and it's almost done. Most people we talk to said we need lots of diapers. I think we should go ahead and start buying them, but I think I'll start with a bigger size.

Welcome

Hi friends and family!

A fun picture from our wedding in July!
A friend of mine just started her own family blog and I thought it would be fun to document life as a wife and soon to be mother. Oscar has been an amazing husband and we can't wait to meet our sweet baby in April.  Kade will be here in about 10 weeks (he's going to be so cute).  I'll be updating this blog weekly and I hope you'll all check in on Oscar, Kade, and me when you can!
